Job Description

Accounting Specialist (General Ledger Accountant 1)

This position will support the Accounting Team and complete specific processing tasks for various EMEA entities.

• Oracle Cloud processing including:

  • Journal entries (manual, recurring, spreadsheet)

  • Running Auto reverse process

  • Create Accounting for UK Payroll 

• GL processes:

  • Balance sheet account analysis for various EMEA entities

  • Upload balance sheet account analysis to Sharepoint and start approval workflow

  • Investigate reconciliation variances, as necessary

  • Respond to Manager/VP inquires on Balance sheet account analysis review

  • Monthly PTO/leave accrual entries and quarterly true ups

  • Severance accruals and tracking severance until fully paid

  • Extra holiday accruals, where applicable

  • Benefit cost analysis

  • Bank reconciliations

  • Review of P&L – month over month costs to ensure they align

  • Various journals re:  health insurance, gratuity, VAT and other benefits

  • Revaluations of Accounts Payable and Accounts receivable

  • Reclass of AP debit and AR credit balances, as appropriate

  • Monthly cost accrual entries, as necessary 

• Audit/Statutory accounts:

  • Assist with compilation of statutory accounts

  • Pull required data as requested by auditors

  • Assist with audit questions during statutory audits

  • Assist with audit questions during audits completed by US auditors

     Other:

  • Backup for fixed asset processing, as needed 

  • Backup for other GL staff, as needed

Requirements – 

• Bachelors degree in Accounting

• Oracle Fusion experience a plus

• Five or more years experience in Accounting

• International/foreign accounting experience a plus

• Ability to multitask

• Good communication skills

• Strong attention to detail

• Strong organizational skills

• Proficiency with Excel (intermediate or advanced)

• Proficiency with Outlook, TEAMS/Sharepoint

• Ability to work independently and as a team
