Position Overview
The Accounts Payable Specialist will support the Accounts Payable function and contribute to the timely and accurate execution of the monthly financial close process. The role includes vendor master data management, vendor payments, 1099 and W-9 administration, audit documentation, financial controls, Positive Pay activities, invoice resolution, and Accounts Payable process improvement.

Responsibilities
Support the Accounts Payable function and contribute to the timely and accurate execution of the monthly financial close process.
Manage and maintain vendor master data within the ERP environment.
Process vendor disbursements in accordance with approval requirements, internal policies, payment terms, and established financial controls.
Manage the timely issuance of vendor payments and support the administration of annual 1099 forms in accordance with IRS regulations.
Prepare, maintain, and produce documentation and supporting schedules required for internal and external audits.
Issue W-9 forms as needed and support compliance with applicable IRS requirements and company policies.
Identify opportunities to optimize and automate Accounts Payable processes, including reducing SLA cycle times, minimizing manual errors, increasing efficiency, and improving customer experience.
Support the development and implementation of internal controls related to cash receipts, cash disbursements, vendor payments, and other Accounts Payable activities.
Manage Positive Pay activities through the banking platform to mitigate payment risk and strengthen financial controls.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve invoice, payment, approval, and vendor-related issues.
Analyze existing processes and identify opportunities for continuous improvement, standardization, and digital enablement.
Manage a high volume of invoices, inquiries, payments, and competing priorities while maintaining accuracy.
Perform additional responsibilities and contribute to special projects as needed.
Work remotely and on-site at a client or Accenture office or center as required.
Participate in in-person collaboration, learning, and relationship-building activities.
Required Qualifications
3 years of experience in Accounts Payable, accounting operations, bookkeeping, or a related finance function.
3 years of experience working with ERP systems, accounting software, databases, and Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced proficiency in Excel.
3 years of experience managing high volumes of invoices, vendor inquiries, payment requests, and disbursements while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
3 years of experience supporting month-end close activities, financial reporting, audit documentation, and related accounting processes.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting Accounts Payable process improvement, automation, or digital transformation initiatives.
Experience managing banking platforms and Positive Pay processes.
Experience supporting internal and external financial audits and maintaining audit documentation.
Experience managing vendor master data and implementing financial controls.
Experience identifying opportunities to streamline processes, reduce manual effort, improve SLA performance, and enhance customer satisfaction.
