Title: Senior Accounts Payable Specialist

Payrate: $30/hr

Location: San Leandro, CA

Schedule: (Hybrid) 3 days on-site (Wednesday is required)

Length of Assignment: 6-month W-2 assignment with potential for extension

A leading lifestyle and consumer brand is seeking a proactive Senior Accounts Payable Specialist to join their growing finance team in a hybrid contract-to-hire opportunity based in San Leandro, CA.

This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside a collaborative accounting team while taking ownership of high-volume AP processes, vendor relationships, reconciliations, and month-end support in a dynamic corporate environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Analyze, verify, and process invoices and check requests with accuracy and efficiency

• Ensure proper routing, coding, approvals, and compliance with internal policies

• Perform high-volume invoice processing and data entry

• Manage full-cycle AP payment processing

• Conduct vendor reconciliations and GL account reconciliations

• Support month-end close activities, including accrual preparation and reporting

• Reconcile goods receipt versus invoice receipt discrepancies

• Review AP aging reports, open deposits, and pricing variances

• Maintain strong vendor and cross-functional internal relationships

• Assist with 1099 reporting and audit support requests

• Collaborate cross-functionally and provide support across the accounting department as needed

 What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of Accounts Payable experience required

• Strong experience with PO processing and 3-way matching

• SAP experience highly preferred

• Experience supporting month-end close activities

• Accrual and prepaid accounting experience required

• Advanced reconciliation and analytical skills

• High attention to detail and accuracy in high-volume environments

• Strong Excel skills with experience managing and sorting large datasets

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work independently while collaborating across teams
