About the Role
The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the agency's accounting functions, ensuring accuracy in financial records, supporting month-end reporting, managing cash flow processes, and maintaining strong financial controls. Working closely with agency leadership and external accounting partners, this role will provide valuable financial insight while ensuring day-to-day accounting operations run smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Operations
Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
Monitor collections and assist with management of outstanding receivables
Review and process vendor payments and expense reimbursements
Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other balance sheet accounts
Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
Reporting & Compliance
Prepare monthly financial reports and supporting schedules
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
Prepare and submit HST filings and other required government remittances
Support annual reviews alongside our accountants and external accounting requirements
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements
Financial Planning & Analysis
Assist leadership with cash flow monitoring and forecasting
Identify trends, risks, and opportunities within financial performance
Support budgeting and financial planning initiatives
Provide recommendations to improve financial processes and controls
Systems & Process Improvement
Continuously improve accounting procedures and workflows
Maintain accounting systems and records
Support implementation of best practices for efficiency and accuracy
Assist with financial reporting improvements and automation opportunities
Required Qualifications
Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
CPA designation (or working toward designation) preferred
Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience
Strong understanding of Canadian accounting principles and tax requirements
Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
Compensation & Schedule
15–20 hours per week
Flexible scheduling
Hybrid work environment with office option downtown London and option to WFH
Competitive hourly compensation based on experience and qualifications
Expected range: $35 - $45/hour
