Join the Real Estate organization, the team that secures and protects the land rights behind the company's transmission and distribution infrastructure
The team supports high-visibility projects, including new construction, rebuilds, major projects and relocations, for internal business partners and external customers

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Research company and public records, including county records, to determine property ownership and title condition and to locate existing rights
Review engineering drawings, site plans and legal descriptions to support document preparation
Do prior-rights research and prepare real estate documents for new construction and major projects
Submit land rights to Data Management for indexing in the asset inventory database, and map easements in GIS
Work with Real Estate Representatives, Research Specialists, Data Management Specialists and internal business partners to meet project requests
Follow established research procedures and stay current on land, notary and recording regulations and best practices
Keep sensitive and high-profile projects confidential
HOW YOU ARE QUALIFIED:
Associate's degree in Paralegal, Real Estate, Business, Political Science, Surveying or a related field, plus 1+ year of related experience. A high school diploma or GED plus 3+ years of experience also qualifies.
Basic knowledge of title work and real estate terminology
Basic understanding of legal descriptions, site plans and engineering drawings
Strong attention to detail, organization and written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office. GIS or mapping experience is a plus.
Valid driver's license, and a Notary Public commission or willingness to get one within the first year
Preferred: Bachelor's degree, 2+ years of related experience, Paralegal certification, title examination experience, and knowledge of surveying and of electric transmission and distribution systems
