Job Description:
Our client seeks a Data Governance Communications Specialist to drive adoption and understanding of data governance frameworks and self-service analytics tools. The role centers on creating clear communications, instructional content, and visual materials that translate governance processes and platform workflows into accessible resources for mixed technical and non-technical audiences. The specialist will operate within the Data & Analytics organization and own communications and self-service enablement for governance implementation, focusing on SharePoint publishing and scalable, self-serve discovery.

Rate: $55.00 to $65.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities:
Create and publish explanations of data governance concepts, frameworks, and processes for business and IT audiences.
Develop how-to guides and instructional content for data cataloging and metadata management using Atlassian-based tools.
Design instructional storyboards and adapt the governance playbook for broad distribution and self-serve access.
Produce canned demonstrations and recorded walkthroughs of governance tools, including catalog navigation and workflows.
Develop documentation and best practices for self-service analytics platforms such as Power BI, Snowflake, Alteryx, and Microsoft Fabric.
Create user-friendly guides that translate technical concepts into language suitable for non-technical audiences.
Produce documentation for access requests, security protocols, tool workflows, and best practices.
Support communications strategy to drive self-service adoption.
Create PowerPoint decks, infographics, and visual aids to explain governance and self-service concepts.
Produce video content using tools such as Firefly, Clip Champ, or Adobe Premiere.
Build Microsoft Forms surveys and assessments to gather feedback and improve materials.
Publish and organize materials on SharePoint for self-serve discovery.
Document governance and data intake workflows with clear process guides.
Organize and maintain a centralized SharePoint repository with clear structure and labeling.
Support collaboration and iteration using JIRA and Confluence.
Experience Requirements:
SharePoint expertise with demonstrated proficiency in site structure, document libraries, and content distribution.
Hands-on video production experience with modern tools and ability to create professional demonstrations.
Proven content design and information organization skills, including storyboarding and process documentation.
Strong written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences.
Experience presenting information visually via PowerPoint, infographics, diagrams, and video.
Ability to gather feedback and iterate to improve clarity and usability.
Working knowledge of data governance, data quality, metadata management, and data cataloging.
Familiarity with self-service analytics platforms such as Power BI, Snowflake, Alteryx, and Microsoft Fabric, or demonstrated ability to learn platform basics.
Understanding of medallion or layered data architecture concepts and data readiness impacts on adoption.
Familiarity with Confluence, JIRA, and Microsoft Forms.
Remote-capable, self-directed work style with strong time management.
Collaborative mindset with cross-functional teams in a fast-moving environment.
Organized and detail-oriented with capacity to manage multiple concurrent content streams.
Ability to handle ad hoc requests while maintaining progress on longer-term content strategy.
Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
