Compensation: $55,000 – $75,000 + Competitive Equity
Role Overview for Senior AP Specialist:
The Senior Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for managing the end-to-end accounts payable process across multiple entities. This role oversees high-volume, cross-company invoice processing, coding, and payments, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting across distinct general ledgers.
This individual will serve as a key point of contact for vendors, internal stakeholders, and the finance team while contributing to process improvements, automation initiatives, and maintaining compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities of Senior AP Specialist:
Process vendor invoices, purchase orders, credit memos, and employee expense reimbursements
Manage payment schedules and ensure timely vendor payments
Reconcile accounts payable across multiple entities to ensure accurate posting
Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve invoice discrepancies and payment issues
Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close, including accruals and reporting
Maintain accurate vendor files and audit-ready documentation
Assist in centralizing and optimizing AP processes, including automation initiatives
Respond to vendor inquiries in a professional and timely manner
Administer corporate card programs (RAMP and BREX)
Manage annual 1099 filings
Support weekly cash planning and AP aging reports
Assist with ad-hoc financial reporting and special projects
Cross-Functional Support of Senior AP Specialist:
Participate in financial, tax, workers’ comp, and 401(k) audits
Support system implementations, process improvements, and policy development
Required Experience & Qualifications
3–5+ years of progressive accounts payable experience
Hands-on NetSuite experience required (must have)
Strong knowledge of AP processes, general accounting principles, and internal controls
Experience supporting a 50–300 employee organization preferred
Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables)
High attention to detail and accuracy
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Strong problem-solving skills and process-oriented mindset
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
