About the Role

Senior Revenue Accountant

  • San Antonio, TX

  • $70,000 — $75,000

We’re partnering with a mission-driven organization that’s making a real difference in the lives of veterans and other vulnerable populations. Their team is passionate about helping people rebuild their lives through innovative programs and meaningful community impact.

They’re looking for a Senior Revenue Accountant to join their team and take ownership of revenue accounting, grant billing, accounts receivable, and month-end close activities. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys nonprofit accounting, working with program leaders, and being part of an organization where the mission is just as important as the numbers.

Why This Opportunity Stands Out

  • Work for an organization with a purpose-driven mission and strong culture

  • Primarily remote schedule with excellent flexibility

  • Opportunity to work closely with leadership and program directors

  • High-visibility role with ownership over revenue accounting processes

  • Exposure to grant accounting, financial reporting, and compliance

  • Growing organization with opportunities for advancement

  • Collaborative team made up of people who genuinely care about the communities they serve

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Manage accounts receivable and revenue-related accounting activities

  • Review invoices and billing documentation for accuracy and compliance

  • Prepare grant billings and reimbursement requests

  • Monitor receivable balances and follow up on outstanding items

  • Analyze revenue activity and recommend accruals or adjustments as needed

  • Support month-end close through journal entries, reconciliations, and financial analysis

  • Review grant and program margins and investigate significant variances

  • Partner with program leaders to support budgeting, reporting, and operational decisions

  • Assist with annual audits, grant reviews, and compliance reporting

  • Prepare recurring and ad hoc financial reports for leadership

  • Help identify opportunities to improve processes and strengthen internal controls

What They’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

  • 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably within a nonprofit environment

  • Experience with accounts receivable, revenue recognition, and general ledger accounting

  • Understanding of grant accounting and funder reporting requirements is a plus

  • Strong reconciliation, month-end close, and financial analysis skills

  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills

  • Experience with Sage Intacct is a plus

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work across multiple departments

Ideal Background

  • Nonprofit or grant-funded accounting experience

  • Experience supporting audits and compliance reviews

  • Knowledge of GAAP and fund accounting principles

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
